Just found out that, by a picture released by Florida Library site. back in 1938, a ray that is about 1200 pounds in weight was caught.
This specific ray is a type of Manta Ray, which is about 23 ft long. It is taller than a typical adult, and it could probably wrap around 6-7 people in its arms (wings?).
It has a really big, horn-looking mouth, and it has a poison sting on its tail. Luckily for humans, this species feed on plankton, and does not hunt for humans.
Kind of wondering how people could catch this first place...
